United Way Winnipeg is looking for a local, experienced marketing and communications consultant/company to implement Peg’s communications plan and enhance Peg’s brand.
Working closely with the Peg team, the consultant/company will be responsible for executing and evaluating the Peg communications plan, managing all aspects of marketing. The work will include developing and implementing a social media strategy, media relationships, relationship strategy with key government and business stakeholders, submissions for workshops, and writing required documents such as fact sheets.
Peg (mypeg.ca) is Winnipeg’s community indicator system, tracking indicators that reflect and measure our city’s well-being. Peg is an initiative of United Way Winnipeg and the International Institute of Sustainable Development (IISD).
Originally launched in 2013, the website was re-launched in 2018 with an improved user interface and the integration of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This sets Peg up to play a key role in working with Winnipeg leaders across sectors in localizing the SDGs in our community, establishing Winnipeg as a national leader.
We are looking for applicants with strong media relations and social media skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and succinctly; strong verbal/presentation skills; ability to establish rapport quickly, including with key stakeholders in government and business; and strong collaborative skills. We have $35,000 annually budgeted for this role.
