Peg Featured at United Nations World Data Forum

How we enable citizen-driven data to respond to shocks, such as COVID-19, goes to the heart of the Peg project. Recently, Beth Timmers, Project Manager at the International Institute of Sustainable Development, joined a panel tackling this question at the United Nations World Data Forum.

Peg was used as a case study of using high-quality citizen data to supplement official data to build community resilience. The forum included panellists from around the world (Columbia, Malta, Ghana, Ireland and more), with discussions on data partnerships organized during the COVID-19 pandemic using timely open geodata platforms.

The presentation added to the forum’s goal of highlighting the opportunities and challenges geodata platforms offer to better analyze and share  COVID-19 findings.
